Criteria for handicaps
How the Handicap Scores are worked out.
All county-badged players have + 5 shots added in the year after they receive their badge/coat.
Once a member has received their county badge/coat then club competitions will not be taken into account.
Members invited for a trial for the following county representative games
= Middleton Cup men White Rose Bowl men
= Balcomb Trophy men
= Johns Trophy ladies Amy Rose Bowl ladies
= Walker Cup ladies
Have 1 shot added. If they have played in the above, 2 shots are added for the above.
These remain throughout their bowling career.
Club competitions
Lyddon cup = Men's singles Govier Cup = Ladies singles
4 shots will be added to the winner of the Lyddon and Govier Cup
2 shots will be added to the runner-up of the Lyddon and Govier Cup.
Pidler Cup, Handicap singles = men’s Handicap Singles = ladies
Two Wood Singles = Men's and ladies. Open two wood singles = mixed.
2 shots will be added to the winner of the Handicap singles, two wood singles, and the open two wood singles.
1 shot will be added to the runner-up of the Handicap singles, two wood singles, and the open two wood singles.
Points acquired in club competitions remain for 3 years.
No non badged player can acquire more than plus 4 shots.
All handicap matches are to be played to the player's handicap i.e., 21 – 28 shots.
